It's the shell of the tan half of Allegra-D that contains extended-release pseudoephedrine. The tan half slowly releases the drug from an insoluble wax matrix that can show up in the stool.
The white half of Allegra-D is immediate-release fexofenadine. It breaks off in the GI tract and dissolves completely.
