You'll hear about a new Rx treatment for head lice called Ulesfia (yoo-LESS-fee-ah), or benzyl alcohol lotion.

It will be promoted as non-neurotoxic because it works by SUFFOCATING lice...instead of PARALYZING them like older products.

But OTC pyrethroids (Nix, etc) and Rx malathion (Ovide, etc) are NOT likely to cause toxicity as long as they are applied correctly.
