This is all due to the phaseout of inhalers that contain chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) due to environmental concerns.
Primatene Mist is used by up to 2 million people...and there aren't any other OTC inhalers. An HFA version is in the works but it won't be available in time...and it might not be approved for OTC use.
