Roche is launching a new test to MONITOR HIV, Amplicor HIV-1. This test is for patients who already know they are infected.
It measures the AMOUNT of HIV in the blood (viral load).
This will be used to monitor the progress of the disease...and to try to determine when to start or change therapy.
